Alabama Power Company issued a lake level warning for Lake Martin today after the National Weather Service published predictions of 3 inches to 6 inches of rain across the state this week. The lake level on the Tallapoosa River’s Lake Martin could reach summer pools or higher by the weekend and could lead to spillgates opening at the dam.

Home and business owners on the lake are encouraged to take safety measures to secure property ahead of the rain and be aware of potentially quickly rising water when underway.
