I just finished one of 2018’s preeminent releases, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey. For those of you in the know, that might sound surprising since the game came out in October last year. Life got in the way, and the usual rigmarole kept me away for stretches of time. I made a conscious decision to finish it recently; however, with the size of Odyssey’s world, I found that the task was a bit more than I had initially anticipated.

Set in a semi-fictional 431 B.C. Greece, Odyssey is almost assuredly the largest Assassin’s Creed game ever produced. In addition to much of mainland Greece, players also could visit every single island in the Aegean Sea. As a result, gamers often find themselves on horseback or at ships’ helms.
