Big crowd expected for anniversary of historic battle

Thousands of visitors will flock to the Horseshoe Bend National Military Park this weekend for the annual anniversary of the Battle of Horseshoe Bend, and park officials say it could be the best program ever.

The annual celebration of the Battle of Horseshoe Bend on Saturday and Sunday will have more events than ever before, including a rare chance to see a Creek stomp dance, hunting camps, traditional skills like hide tanning, flint knapping, finger weaving and much more.
