Birthdays are what you make of them

There are 365 days in a year and to me none of them are more important than my birthday. I’m not saying I don’t enjoy Christmas Day, Easter or Halloween, but March 6 (at least in my family) has been Kelly’s day for the last 27 years.

I have celebrated in all kinds of ways. Sleepovers, going to the movies or watching 12 high school athletes achieve the ultimate goal of winning a state title. However, the way I celebrated the day the beginning was always the same.
