Cleaning up the mess

Tallapoosa County school officials were busy drying out the old New Site gym Friday afternoon after a violent thunderstorm blew off the building’s roof the previous day.

Pieces of the gym’s 30-year-old rubber roof were still strewn about the building’s front lawn as well as in the lawn of a residence across the street while officials were surveying the damage.
