Condensation in tents has plagued tent manufacturers and campers since man first sewed animal skins together to make a shelter. Condensation results from moist, warm air encountering a cooler surface and is then cooled below the dew point.

The normal breathing of someone in a tent is the primary source of moist, warm, air. Since one adult can produce a pint of moisture per night from breathing alone, it is easy to see how much condensation four or five campers can generate.
