Local gas prices jumped more than 10 cents during the last week, but they should begin to decrease as summer comes to an end.

Clay Ingram, public relations and marketing manager for AAA Alabama, said the increase reflects a state and nationwide jump that occurred because of a fluctuation in crude oil prices.
