Last month, Alexander City lost a great man and golfer. The man I’m referring to is Billy Hardy. I can remember when I was a kid watching him swing and admiring how he had such a smooth motion. His tempo never changed from shot to shot. I can also remember the day he came over to me on the range and taught me how to hold the club correctly. He informed me that I could either overlap or interlock. I chose overlap, and I still use that grip to this day.

Mr. Hardy was always trying to improve and, in the process, became very knowledgeable about how to build clubs and how certain things affect the trajectory and shot shape of the ball. These are things worth learning if you want to reach your peak as a player.
