Officials still searching for missing plane

Tallapoosa County Sheriff Jimmy Abbett said the search for a missing plane piloted by a Middle Tennessee State University graduate student set to fly from Auburn to Murfreesboro, Tenn., has been called off for the night by the Civil Air Patrol.

Earlier Tuesday afternoon, Abbett was told that a slight beacon signal had been reported within a 10-mile radius of Alabama Highways 50 and 49 between Walnut Hill and Gold Hill.
