After twenty years of managing Alexander City’s airport at T.C. Russell Field, Russell Corporation will relinquish control of the site Dec. 31, sending the city on a search for new managers.

Airport managers, titled fixed based operators (FBO), have varying responsibilities depending on the size and location of the airport they service. Alex City Flying Service, the Russell Corporation’s FBO, is currently managing the airport and is responsible for fueling, servicing aircraft, among other things.
