EUNICE, La. – The old theater smells like Saturday night: buttered popcorn, hairspray and shaving lotion. Grainy images of lanky Hank play on a small screen in front of the stage – the ultimate warm-up act.

I try to make this show called Old Tyme Country at the Liberty Theatre every year. It’s one New Year’s resolution that is easy to keep.
