A new program within the Tallapoosa County Extension Office is the first time it will be instituted in the state, and the office was only one of 10 to be selected for it.

Submitted / TPI This year is the first time the 4-H AmeriCorp program will be instituted in Alabama with the Tallapoosa County Extension Office selected as one of 10 counties to participate in the program. The 4-H AmeriCorp educator will assist with the development, installation and continuation of high interest 4-H programs.

The Alabama AmeriCorps 4-H program hires an educator to help deliver high-quality youth development opportunities to high-need communities across Alabama according to its website. The educator for Tallapoosa County will be an answer to the needs of the extension office. Current staffing have reached the capacity of what they can handle.
