Aimee, a 6-month-old husky, was abandoned and passed away as a result of her injuries in January. A bill proposing an animal abuser registry is named in her honor.

Harrisburg, Pa. — A bill named for an abandoned husky puppy that aims to create a way to track animal abusers like sex offenders has advanced in the state Legislature.

The proposed legislation to establish a statewide animal abuser registry in order to help prevent convicted abusers from obtaining more animals was approved by the Senate Oct. 6, according to Senate Animal Protection Caucus co-chair Sen. Rosemary Brown (R-40), who supported the measure.
