Larry D. Parks, 87 of Opelika left this earthly world on August 7, 2023 and went to his heavenly home. Born in his beloved Mississippi, on November 19, 1935 he was the middle child of Muldrew and Alice Hudson Parks. 

After graduating from Vigor High School, Mobile, AL he pursued his undergraduate double major degree at Mississippi Southern College, Hattiesburg, MS. He was inducted into Kappa Mu Epsilon honorary Math Society serving as President his senior year. Upon graduating, 1958, he married his sweetheart, Joyce Lee Howell of Chickasaw, AL relocating to Huntsville working on the Mercury Project at Redstone Arsenal using his Mathematics & Physics degrees at the then precursor to NASA to put the first man on the moon.
