America has a lot to offer

For a long time, us Americans have faced the prejudices and assumptions of Europeans as they’ve generalized us as rude or lacking in awareness. They criticize us for how we’ve diverged from them since America declared independence from Britain 250 years ago. 

It is so fitting to see the roles be reversed as the United States, Mexico and Canada host the World Cup this summer. All over social media, conversations have centered around our European visitors as they traverse the United States and learn all the things many of us have known or experienced since we were kids.
