Dear Editor,

I read the article on immigration and our school system’s stance. Before I start with the meat of this letter, let me set the record straight on my personal feelings on immigration. I have no problem with anyone wanting to immigrate to the U.S. I, as a soldier in our military, have spent many months away from my family defending our way of life in countries which wouldn’t even be considered fifth-world, and I think the United States is the best country on this planet. I completely understand why people want to come here. My problem with the whole immigration debate is that people do not seem to understand the word illegal! The U.S. has a legal path which can be used to come to my country in order to take advantage of what we have to offer.
