When I had a story published in my hometown’s newspaper, my grandmother held it up and said, “Isn't it exciting seeing your name in the paper like that?” I shook my head, “No it doesn’t really matter to me if my name is there, if I wrote it or someone else did, I just care that the story is there.” She folded up the paper and said, “I guess that is what makes you a writer.”
