Unfortunately, Tallapoosa County continues to see fatal car wrecks. One thing that may have prevented some of these deaths is wearing a seat belt. 

According to ALDOT’s 2021 crash facts, more than half of the state’s fatal crashes had people not wearing seatbelts. Without the use of a seatbelt, it is more likely for passengers to get ejected from the vehicle resulting in more serious injuries or death.Â
