OUR VIEW: School board smart not to rush approval of construction

With the final construction cost of the new Benjamin Russell High School at $102 million dollars, Alexander City Schools superintendent Dr. Jose Reyes and the board of education, should be slow to give final approval.

As construction continued, the program managers told the board they believed the school would be ready to move in sometime in December, allowing the move from the current building to the new building to happen during Christmas holidays, making for a smoother transition.
