The City of Alexander City seems to be backing off a proposal to issue hunting permits within the city limits. And after thinking about it and hearing public input, we agree.

The State of Alabama already has hunting regulations in place that outlaw hunting within 300 feet of a dwelling or within 150 feet of a railroad or roadway. That effectively makes hunting in a populated area illegal and it makes hunting legal in appropriate areas within and outside the city limits … there’s really no reason to revise the system.
