NOTE: This column ran in the Tallassee Tribune during this week in 2017. At the time, I sure came across as bitter in my complaints about public education. In fact, reading this again has left me feeling completely embarrassed. The truth is, things were pretty good because they were normal. In March of 2020, the whole world we knew changed overnight thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic. Anyway … a blast from an educational past. - MB

This week I had traffic cop duty because I guess our regular police officers think school has ended. Lord knows, the students think it’s over already.
