Stanhope Elmore’s girls soccer program has been in a state of limbo for the last few seasons. That was rectified when Eric Peterson, an active duty captain in the Air Force, stepped up to take on the mantle of responsibility. A pilot by trade with a slew of coaching experience, Peterson was the best person for the role — and he proved it.

Peterson led the Mustangs to their best season in program history, making it to the second round of the AHSAA Class 6A playoffs, where they eventually fell to St. Paul’s Episcopal, 5-1.
