I know y’all know when I mean when I say I can’t wait a moment longer for the college football season. I crave the sweaty, oppressive humidity of a Texas Saturday afternoon, walking across the Forty Acres in my boots, ignorant to the ache in my toes. I miss standing in the student section, crammed in against people I’ve never met, but will soon befriend as we watch our Longhorns step onto the field at Darrell K. Royall-Texas Memorial Stadium.

I know I’m not alone when I say that, and I know that many of y’all feel the same way about your team. But if y’all ever stood there in the crowd of 100,000 Longhorn faithfuls and heard them sing “The Eyes of Texas” after the game, win or lose, you’d understand what I meant.
