Wetumpka at Tallassee Baseball

On opening day for each team, the Wetumpka Indians traveled to Tallassee to take on the Tigers. The Indians ended up claiming the first game out of two times the intercounty rivals will face each other this season, 10-4. 

Wetumpka showed off its strength in the batter’s box as it gathered a total of 10 hits. Right fielder Kyle Richardson led with three hits, one RBI and zero strikeouts. Second baseman Peyton Dickey had two hits on four at-bats, three RBIs and zero strikeouts, and catcher Logan Fawcett put up two hits on three at-bats with one RBI. Fawcett also hit his first home run of the season in the top of the fourth inning to put the Indians up 5-2.
