A few weeks ago, I wrote a column about the NFL collusion cover-up and the NFLPA scandal that followed. This week, the news that ESPN – arguably the leader in sports journalism and entertainment for the last 30 years – purchased a 10 percent stake in the NFL. 

ESPN’s public relations mechanisms have touted this as a “huge win” for football fans. On the surface, maybe. But I implore you to look a little deeper.
