Holtville’s baseball team faced a tall task last week in its Class 5A Round 2 playoff series versus the Demopolis Tigers. The Tigers were ranked No. 7 in the final poll from the Alabama Sports Writers Association, released just before the start of the postseason.Â
The Bulldogs made the trip to Demopolis for a doubleheader on Thursday, falling 5-3 in the first game. In Game 2, Holtville snatched the win in walk-off fashion after Tiger’s pitcher walked in the winning run while the bases were loaded, 6-5.Â
