Holtville’s baseball team faced a tall task last week in its Class 5A Round 2 playoff series versus the Demopolis Tigers. The Tigers were ranked No. 7 in the final poll from the Alabama Sports Writers Association, released just before the start of the postseason. 

The Bulldogs made the trip to Demopolis for a doubleheader on Thursday, falling 5-3 in the first game. In Game 2, Holtville snatched the win in walk-off fashion after Tiger’s pitcher walked in the winning run while the bases were loaded, 6-5.

File / TPI Holtville baseball played the final games of its season last week, losing to Demopolis in the second round of the AHSAA Class 5A playoffs. The Bulldogs took it to three games after walking off Game 2, eventually losing, 7-4.
