After its first-round exit to the playoffs last season, the Holtville boys soccer team is planning to expand on what they were able to achieve with a handful of new and experienced players on the pitch this season.

The Bulldogs got off to a bit of a late start this season, as coach Luke Fussell wanted to ensure he had the full squad back before they kicked off. In its first two games, Holtville experienced the wide variety of Class 5A boys soccer with a 5-0 win over Booker T. Washington Magnet and a 4-1 loss against area opponent Marbury.
