Truthfully, I cannot explain what has come over me as of late. It’s so far out of my wheelhouse that saying it has garnered questions from some of my closest friends and even resulted in my mom saying, “Who are you and what have you done with my son?”

For context, especially those who actually read my columns, football is by far No. 1 in my book. Depending on the year, I can swap between what I prefer more — the NFL and college football. When I lived in Dallas growing up, football was centered around the Cowboys. Then, when I got to Athens, Georgia the Bulldogs took center stage. Regardless, and my coworkers can attest, when it's the weekend and it's the football season — I will be unreachable.
