Stanhope Elmore student-athletes ink intentions for college ball

After Stanhope Elmore finished its best season in program history, two Mustang girls basketball players inked their commitments to continue their careers at the next level. This past season, SEHS’ girls basketball team reset the standard for the program by trailblazing its way through to the regional semifinals. Two of the team’s starting players and senior leaders, center Teonna Davis and shooting guard Aubrey Newton, signed their national letters of intent to play basketball at Southern Union State Community College and Lurleen B. Wallace Community College, respectively. 

“These girls right here, they are the ultimate student-athletes,” SEHS coach Kelvin Stokes said. “They’ve got very high character; they’re great kids. They were raised the right way. The Davis and the Newton family, I can’t say enough about them.”
