News broke Saturday that the Dallas Cowboys hired Tallassee native Derrick Ansley as their defensive backs coach and defensive pass game coordinator. Ansley, formerly of the Green Bay Packers, was an All-State defensive back for Tallassee in 1999. That year, the undefeated Tigers welcomed Jemison to J.E. “Hot” O’Brien Stadium in the AHSAA Class 4A semifinal game.

The Tigers did not prevail, losing 28-14, in their first and final loss of the season and of Ansley’s career as a Tallassee Tiger.
