Submitted / TPI Tallassee's girls wrestling team had its first AHSAA Class 1A-5A South Sectionals champion, Kaylee Fannin, and qualified eight wrestlers for the state tournament in Huntsville.

Tallassee has built a long history of dominance in high school wrestling. With the advent of girls’ wrestling and the introduction of it in Tallassee last season, the Tigers are looking to build the same history of dominance in the girls division as much as the boys.

Tallassee attended its second AHSAA Class 1A-5A South Sectionals on Thursday and Friday, qualifying eight wrestlers for the state tournament later this week in Huntsville. As a team, the Tigers scored 141 points and placed second behind Dadeville.
