There’s no doubt the Wetumpka Indians are one of the best softball teams in the state. The Indians have appeared in the top five teams in Class 6A since the first round of ASWA rankings this season and competed with some of the best talent in the South. 

Despite this week’s break, the Indians (25-3) went down to the beach for the annual Gulf Shores Classic tournament. Through the three-day tournament, Wetumpka went 6-2 finishing as the tournament runners-up behind Class 7A’s No. 10-ranked Hoover.

Ana Sofia Meyer / TPI The Wetumpka Indians (20-3) finished as the runners-up in the annual Gulf Shores Classic softball tournament, which brings in top-level talent from across the southern United States. The Indians proved their status as one of the top-ranked teams in Class 6A softball.
