Submitted / TPI Reeves Field has not been used as an airport for years. The City of Tallassee sold it to Mavhawk where private ownership will bring the airport back to life.

A judge continued the case where Bill Patterson wants to stop the City of Tallassee from selling the airport property despite it being sold by the city last year.

On Oct. 3, 2025, Patterson through his attorney Brandon Rice, asked then Fifth Judicial Circuit Court Judge Steven Perryman for a temporary restraining order and injunction to stop the sale. The petition states lack of a bidding process and improper notification of the potential sale as reasons the court should stop the real estate transaction. On March 23, 2026, Patterson through his attorney filed an amended complaint and named two new defendants — MAVHAWK LLC and its owner Patrick Taylor.
