The Alabama Feral Hog Control Council applauds the Alabama Legislature for the passage of the House Bill 315 (HB315), dramatically increasing fines. HB315 increased the minimum fine to $2500; a five-fold increase to transport and release live feral hogs in the State.
“With over 250,000 estimated feral hogs infesting Alabama and causing tens of millions of dollars in damage on an annual basis,” said Rep. Reed Ingram, “I was proud to sponsor this bill. It is a shame for people to get away with hauling and releasing feral hogs when they are clearly a very damaging, invasive species. It was important for me to assist in dramatically increasing fines on the illegal transportation of this very invasive species in Alabama.”
