It’s been 20 years since Tallassee has had a fire-related death, but in the past month two people have been flown to UAB’s burn center. One lost his life, the other is still recovering.

The common denominator in that equation is that members of the Tallassee Fire Department believe both fires were caused as a result of space heaters.
