The City of Tallassee has money in the bank. But just because there are a few accounts collecting interest doesn’t mean it can go on a spending spree.

Outside of the general fund that is used for day to day operations, the City of Tallassee has approximately $3.5 million in accounts for capital improvements beyond funding allocated to replacing cast iron gas lines and utility improvements. Councilmember Bill Hall said it would be great if revenue always came in above estimates.
