County teams represented as ASWA releases annual all-state football team

The Alabama Sports Writers Association released its annual All-State football team Tuesday night as several local schools were represented by some of the top players in the county.

Stanhope Elmore’s William Whitlow Jr. led the way as a First-Team selection after being named a First-Team defensive lineman in Class 6A. Whitlow Jr., a Memphis commit, led all players in 6A with 43 tackles for a loss and he added 12 sacks in his final season with the Mustangs.
