Over the last few seasons, Tallassee’s girls basketball team has struggled to make it past area competition and into the playoffs. This season the Tigers will take on that challenge once again, this time with a new coach and within a new area. Their new coach, Daniel Byrd, is a recent hire to athletic director Eric Folmar’s coaching staff. During the football season, he will spend his time coaching quarterbacks. 

“It’s been exciting,” Byrd said. “Obviously anytime someone new comes in, there’s some growing pains naturally, but the buy-in has been tremendous. Everyone has shown up with an attitude to work every day and do what tough people need to do to win. To be a part of it and to see the little changes already, the accountability already, it’s been great.”
