For some, encourager is the best word to describe the late Jimmy Childers of Dadeville. 

Childers, 82, died on Oct. 27 in his home. Born in Alexander City, Childers grew into a servant of education throughout his career. He served Tallapoosa County Schools as a principal at New Site High School and Dadeville High School. Before taking on an administrative role, Childers was a history teacher.

Jimmy Childers died on Oct. 27 in his home. Childers’ funeral was on Saturday, Oct. 31 and will be remembered as an encouraging family member, friend and mentor.
