Unemployment in Tallapoosa County fell to the lowest rate since May of 2008 in September, dropping to 6 percent unemployment rate according to data released Friday.

The local rate fell from the 6.2 percent rate posted in August and significantly lower than the 6.7 percent unemployment rate posted by the county in September 2007.
