An average citizen walking through the woods near Barron’s Bridge Tuesday would have seen just a garbage-strewn lot and an abandoned shack out in the woods.

But to the trained eye of Tallapoosa County Sheriff’s Deputy Josh Coltrane, it was clear he’d uncovered a site where methamphetamine is manufactured. He called in the discovery and Dadeville Police Lt. Chris Martin — who is trained to clean up hazardous materials – was dispatched to neutralize the dangerous ingredients of the deadly drug.
