Tallapoosa County Sheriff said there have been spikes in methamphetamine and pharmaceutical use and spoke about other alarming trends in the county’s crime and what his office was doing to prevent them.
Sheriff Jimmy Abbett said drug trends are changing as more opiate based drugs enter into circulation from a number of illegal and legal sources.

producing very heavy rainfall on top of already saturated soils for

Pike, Randolph, Russell, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega,
Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa and Walker.
* WHEN...From 7 AM CDT this morning through this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Area creeks
and streams are running high and could flood with more heavy rain.
