An Eclectic man is in the Elmore County Jail in connection to a shooting death at a Holtville Store.

Elmore County Sheriff Bill Franklin said the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office received a call just after 10 p.m. Friday about a shooting and gunshot victim at the Girls Store in Slapout. When deputies and first responders arrived, bystanders were administering first aid to Joel Whitus, 42, of Millbrook. Franklin said Whitus had gotten out of vehicle to go in the store.
