Reclassification in Alabama brought about many things, but for Stanhope Elmore volleyball coach Flavia Freeney, it brought equality.

After having to face a loaded gauntlet in the Mustangs area for the last two years, yet still making it to the regional tournament, this year’s group brings a sense of balance. The Mustangs retained rival Wetumpka in the region, yet dropped Percy Julian and Montgomery Academy. In their place, Benjamin Russell and Russell County slot themselves in.
