The Millbrook-based rollercoaster that is Stanhope Elmore flag football crested a hilltop Thursday night at 17 Springs, defeating Booker T. Washington (Tuskegee) 32-6.

“We’ve been up and down all season,” said Mustangs coach Kashundra Davis. “For some reason we get off to slow starts and it takes a while to get our bearings. We speed ourselves up. Sometimes we beat ourselves. Tonight we were beating ourselves, but we got it together at the end.”
