Edgewood produces shutout win over Sparta Academy

The Edgewood Academy Wildcats' winning ways continued Friday night, shutting out Sparta Academy, 39-0. After losing their opening-week contest, the Wildcats have been on a roll with wins over Crenshaw, Lowndes, Southern Prep and now Sparta. In that span, the Wildcats have outscored their opponents 105-30. 

“We struggled last week (in the 12-8 win over Southern Prep), but we bounced back,” said Wildcat coach Gregg Baker said. “We had a sluggish Monday and really challenged them Tuesday and Wednesday and had a good and focused walkthrough on Thursday. We were much more prepared this week.”
