Slater named new Wetumpka High principal

A new hand is taking the helm at Wetumpka High School. The appointment of Dr. Robbie Slater as WHS principal was approved Thursday night during a special called meeting of the Elmore County Board of Education.

Slater will fill the position left vacant by former principal Cindy Veazey who recently transferred to the system’s central office to service as senior coordinator of institutional services. Veazey served as the school’s principal from the beginning of the 2011-12 school year until the end of the 2013-14 year.
