The Holtville Bulldogs took the field Friday night playing for pride against rival Marbury in the annual Bulldog Brawl. But pride doesn’t equal points, as Marbury left Slapout with both the trophy and a 21-14 victory.
“Effort is not an issue with these guys. They battle their butts off and do everything we ask of them,” said Holtville coach Cory Lee, whose Bulldogs fell to 2-7. “We’ve also talked about how effort without execution does not lead to success. You’ve got to have both.”
