The Elmore County Technical Center is popular.

More than 10% of the entire population of Elmore County students visit the campus several times a week. That percentage greatly increases when you consider only students in the 10th, 11th and 12th grades. And there is career technical education happening at Elmore County Schools’ four high schools. The center’s popularity has increased over the last eight or so years. Its enrollment is currently about 1,200 students and was about 350 students when Jimmy Hull took over in 2013. When now director Emilie Johnson came to ECTC in 2014 as a counselor, the student population had grown to 500. It has never stopped growing since and Johnson is now the center’s director. She credits changing the mindset of what is needed to succeed in life.
