Alex City 10U soccer brings home state championship

It was nothing short of electric for the Alexander City 10U team en route to the state championship game. After knocking out the Dothan and Athens youth soccer teams, Alex City found itself in the semifinals against a tough Fort Payne team. And by the end of the contest, it was nothing short of magical. 

“But in the semifinals we had to go to a shootout,” coach Levi Jackson Lewis said. “It was tied 2-2, and we had to go to a shootout. Sawyer Turner was our goalie. He stopped three of their kicks, and we scored two. So we won in the shootout to get to the semifinals.”
